How to carve your own seal in Signet

Updated 2026-10-14 · 2 min read
Short answer

Carve a personal seal from one to four characters, in red or white text, with your choice of shape, border and ink color. It is free, and the optional colophon shows only in the seal box, not on exported images.

Beyond the 75 built-in seals, you can carve one of your own: a name, a pen name, or a studio name for a corner of your life.

What you can choose

OptionChoices
TextOne to four characters
StyleRed text on a plain ground, or white text on a red ground
ShapeSquare, rectangle, round, oval
BorderNone, thin, wide, ruled grid
Ink colorVermilion, black ink, ginger gold, pine green, indigo
ScriptEight scripts, including regular, small seal, running and cursive. Where a seal script lacks a character, Signet falls back to regular
Name and colophonOptional. You can name the seal and write a short colophon about why you carved it

Where the colophon shows

The colophon appears in the seal box detail for that seal. It is not printed on the exported card.

Using it

A custom seal can serve as a main seal or as the opening seal of a moment. Your own seals appear in the seal box next to the built-in ones, and each seal shows how many moments it has been pressed on.

Cost

Custom seals are included. Signet has no in-app purchases.
