Is there a Chinese-style, seal-style journal app?

Updated 2026-10-14 · 3 min read
Short answer

Yes, a few, and they differ: Signet is built around Chinese seals (75 built-in plus your own) pressed on a photo and a line, Chuoleme is a rubber-stamp-style diary, and Suishiji follows the 24 solar terms. Signet is on the App Store in the US and Hong Kong storefronts only, so it does not appear in the mainland China App Store (checked 2026-10-14).

Chinese style and stamp style are two different things in journal apps. This page sorts out which app is which, and where each one can be downloaded.

Prices and features change. Not stated means we did not see a clear statement on the listing, which does not mean the feature is absent. We make Signet, so we say plainly what the others do better.

Where each one is strongest

  • Chuoleme is the lightest touch: pressing a small stamp for a milk tea or a cat on the way home. Its listing stresses no streaks and no goals, and a one-line verdict at the end of each day.
  • Suishiji is the deepest on the calendar side. It ties each of the 24 terms and 72 pentads to classical texts, poems and seasonal food, and lets you keep observations on a yearly ring.
  • AuraMate combines a calendar, a daily slip and a mood diary in one place, for people who like a daily ritual.
  • Signet is the one centred on the seal itself: you choose a seal, press it on a moment worth keeping, mount it, and unroll the year as a long scroll. It is not a diary you write in every day.

How to choose

  • You want Chinese seals on your own photos: Signet, if you can use the US or Hong Kong App Store.
  • You want a playful stamp diary: Chuoleme.
  • You want to follow the solar terms through the year: Suishiji.
  • You want a calendar with a daily ritual: AuraMate.

Signet is currently not downloadable from the mainland China App Store. If that is your storefront, the other three are the practical options today.
